Tracy Grant Lord is a scenographer of opera, ballet and theatre based in Aotearoa New Zealand. Tracy has a bachelor’s degree in Spatial Design, has worked with all of the region’s major performance companies and her work has toured internationally to critical acclaim. Her recent designs include Così fan tutte, (m)Orpheus, The Unruly Tourists and The Marriage of Figaro for New Zealand Opera, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Firebird for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Dangerous Liaisons for Queensland Ballet and and The Nutcracker for Tulsa Ballet. Tracy arrives for this season of Le comte Ory direct from Seattle, where she has been leading design for Seattle Opera’s 2024 season of The Barber of Seville. Tracy’s work has received Helpmann and Olivier Award nominations and she is a Winston Churchill Fellow. Tracy has also exhibited several times at both the World Stage Design and the Prague Quadrennial.
