Toiere

Operatic arias, te reo Māori and sublime vocal prowess

Operatic arias, te reo Māori and sublime vocal prowess blend together in this concert of treasured and popular waiata.

Following its acclaimed debut at the Auckland Arts Festival and sell out performances in Nelson and Kerikeri, Toiere comes to Waitangi, bringing a powerful fusion of cultures and sound. This extraordinary concert reimagines iconic operatic masterpieces through a unique blend of original  languages and te reo Māori, transforming familiar arias into a new, deeply affecting experience that could only come from Aotearoa.

Beloved waiata Māori are seamlessly interwoven with timeless operatic works, creating a rich, resonant tapestry of music that celebrates both heritage and innovation. The result is a captivating performance where sublime vocal artistry meets the profound beauty and depth of te reo Māori.
