South Auckland Samoan Bass-baritone, Joel Amosa debuted with NZ Opera as Fiorello in the 2019 season of Barber of Seville. Joel was a Young Artist with NZO and performed Bartolo in the Marriage of Figaro with the company.
Joel was the winner of the 2018 Lexus song quest competition, which led to performances in San Diego, America, singing Masterclass in Italy and performing Sir John Falstaff in Merry Wives of Windsor with the Lisa Gasteen National Opera Program in Brisbane, Australia. Joel has also performed with NZ Opera in The Barber of Seville as Fiorello, a chaotic gardener, Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro, Masetto in Don Giovanni with Wellington Opera in the Wellington Opera House and most recently as Edmund Bertram in Mansfield Park with NZ Opera.
Outside of the performing arts, Joel is the Community Engagement Manager for ASB Bank where he leads a national team to connect communities and schools with better access to banking support and services.
