James Harrison

Baritone

James Harrison studied at the Royal College of Music where he won the prestigious Lies Askonas Prize, then went on to the National Opera Studio. James has appeared in concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican, The Wigmore Hall and throughout Europe and New Zealand. Since returning to Aotearoa James has sung in Candide, Carmen, and other seasons for New Zealand Opera, and sang Germont in La Traviata for a Festival Opera. Before moving back to New Zealand he made his debut for English National Opera and sang at The Royal Opera House. James sings regularly with orchestras and choirs throughout Aotearoa and is in demand as a teacher and choral educator. He has taught at universities, worked with all of the national choirs, adjudicated competitions, and is working with top school choirs and young singers across the country.
