At the age of 18, Tayla Alexander became the youngest person in New Zealand to create and run a foundation designed to financially and professionally support talented Kiwis. The Tayla Made foundation has donated $40,000 in grants within two years.

As a young singer she continues to gain meaningful musical experiences; having performed in 2021 as a special solo guest with SOL3MIO at Spark Arena and attended the 2022 Whanganui New Zealand Opera School. Tayla was awarded first place in the Ronald Dellow senior vocal recital competition, the Norah Howell senior vocal competition, and most recently the Blues award for Leadership and community service, the AIMES 2021 award and the Evelyn M Harrison scholarship of $5,000 towards her post-graduate studies

Since the age of 12, Tayla has been performing both Opera and Classical crossover commercially, with music which is played across Europe, American and New Zealand radio stations. Miss Alexander is working with the NZ Opera company in 2022 as a soloist at Opera in the Park and has joined the intimate ensemble of The Unruly Tourists. Tayla plans to complete her bachelor’s degree with honours in 2022 at the University of Auckland before going overseas for her masters in Music.
