Ji-Min Park

Tenor

South Korean tenor Ji-Min Park studied at Seoul National University under Professor Philip Kang and at the Vienna Conservatory with Professor Carolyn Hague. In 2007, he joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, becoming a Principal Young Artist in 2009-10.

In the 2024/25 season, Park returns to Opera Australia as Alfredo in La Traviata and sings Rodolfo in La Bohème for New Zealand Opera. Recent roles include Rodolfo in La Bohème (Cincinnati Opera, Opera Australia, Royal Opera House), Ernesto in Don Pasquale (Opera Australia, Fort Worth Opera, Atlanta Opera), and Énée in Les Troyens (Theater Kiel). He has also performed Alfredo in La Traviata (Scottish Opera, Opera Australia, Cincinnati Opera, Royal Opera House), along with roles in Gianni Schicchi, Lucia di Lammermoor, Roméo et Juliette, and Carmen.

In concert, Park has performed Verdi’s Requiem (Estonian National Symphony Orchestra), Gennaro in Lucrezia Borgia (Moscow State Philharmonic), and recitals at La Scala, La Fenice, and the Royal Opera House. Park has received several prestigious awards, including First Prize at the 5th Klaudia Taev International Estonian Music Competition, the Vienna Staatsoper Special Prize at the Belvedere Competition, and Third Prize at the Toulouse International Singing Competition. He also represented Korea at the 2009 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.
