Adrian Linford

Adrian Linford is the Scenic and Costume Designer for the 2026 season of Bluebeard's Castle

Adrian Linford was born in Cambridgeshire, trained at Wimbledon School of Art, and lives in London. Credits include Allan Bennett’s The Habit of Art which had two UK tours and received the New York Times Critic’s Pick when it was performed as part of the 2023 Brits-off-Broadway season in New York, as well as A Cold Supper Behind Harrods, and The Mirror Crack’d which toured throughout the UK.

Other productions include L’Etoile at the Royal Northern College of Music; the premiere of Peter James’ novel Paint you Dead on stage; Manon Lescaut for Grange Festival Opera;the UK premiere of Jake Hegge’s opera Dead Man Walking and Street Scene, Agrippina, and Judith Weir’s The Vanishing Bridegroom all for the Royal Conservatoire in Scotland.

He designed the current production of The Marriage of Figaro in Lübeck, Germany, and Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George for Paris’ Theatre du Chatelet. He is currently designing The Love for Three Oranges in Manchester.

In the USA, productions include Rigoletto and La Grande Duchesse du Gerolstein, both for Santa Fe Opera, Falstaff for LA Opera, Dallas Opera, and Houston Grand Opera which revives in Los Angeles in 2026, Orfeo ed Eurydice for Minnesota Opera and The Bald Soprano and The Maids in New York.
