William Kelly is an Auckland based actor who has been working professionally for 4 years. William made his debut with New Zealand Opera as the Bunnings Hat Kid in The Unruly Tourists in 2022.
He appeared as Boy in the 2024 New Zealand National tour of Richard O’Brien’s Kingdom of Bling. He has appeared previously as River in the Wellington and Christchurch season of Bluebeard’s Castle in 2023 and is thrilled to return to the role again here in Auckland 2026.
This year William appeared as the title role Greg Heathley in Diary of a Wimpy Kid for North Shore Musical Theatre, he also appeared as Tommy in Matilda at the Bruce Mason Centre in 2024.
He is a competition dancer in the styles of jazz and tap and a member of Studio 246 ‘Hey Pachoco’ tap dancing team.
A keen Chorister William sings with Takapuna Grammar Schools Chorale Choir which recently received a Silver medal at the World Choir Games. William has been training his voice for 10 years and is the fourth generation from his family to work with New Zealand Opera.
