Emma Pearson

Soprano

Raised in Perth, Australia, soprano Emma Pearson has performed widely in New Zealand, Australia and across Europe and the USA. Holding a principal artist position at the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, Germany for nine years, where she performed more than 30 roles for the company, Emma was in 2014 awarded the title of Kammersängerin by the state of Hessen – the youngest artist ever to receive the honour.

In her more recent appearances with NZ Opera, Emma has sung Fiordiligi (Così Fan Tutte), Semele (Semele) and Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio à Reims). For Opera Australia, Emma has sung Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and Contessa di Folleville (Il viaggio à Reims), with other major appearances including Violetta Valéry (La traviata, Opera Queensland & Wellington Opera), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor, Wellington Opera), Armida (Rinaldo, Pinchgut Opera) and Laura (Voss, State Opera Australia). She has also appeared as a guest artist with Sempreroper Dresden, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theatre St Gallen, Orquestra de Valencia, Minnesota Orchestra and in Bratislava with Bertrand de Billy.
