Fiona McAndrew is a native of Ireland and a graduate of the Opera Course at the Guildhall
School of Music and Drama in London. She holds a Ph.D. in Music from the University of
Melbourne and a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Western
Australia.
Internationally, she has been a soloist with Teatro Comunale Bologna, Dresden Semper Oper,
Wexford Festival, Opera Ireland, English Touring Opera, Opera Holland Park, Covent Garden
Festival, Dresden Festival, Perth Festival, BBC Concert Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal
Northern Sinfonia UK, San Antonio Symphony Texas, RTE Symphony. Roles include Violetta
(La Traviata), Fiordiligi (Così fan Tutte), Marie (La Fille du Régiment), Donna Elvira (Don
Giovanni), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Woglinde (Das Rheingold), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier)
Adina (L’Elisir d’amore), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Anne Sexton in Susa’s Transformations
and Sr Rose in Nicholas Lehnhoff’s production of Jake Heggie’s, Dead Man Walking. She has
sung in recital for the British Royal Family and in the title role of Michael Daugherty’s opera
Jackie O, released internationally by Dynamic on film and DVD. She has recorded as Elle in La
Voix Humaine for ABC Classic FM.
